Were afraid the others will think were agringadas because we dont speak Chicano Spanish. We oppress each other trying to out-Chicano each other, vying to be real Chicanas, to speak like Chicanos. There is no one Chicano language just as there is no one Chicano experience.

Gloria E. Anzalda was a 20th-century American feminist scholar. Gloria Evangelina Anzaldúa was an American philosopher and scholar of Chicana feminism, cultural theory, and queer theory.
